Bedhead Hats is an Australian based company with a core value of making the most protective and comfortable sun hats for babies & children.

We believe every child should have the opportunity to grow up healthy and safe. Several years ago, we established ‘Protect the Potential’ to provide babies of Australia with the ‘first step’ in living a sun-safe life. With the help of our lovely customers and charities who aid disadvantaged mums and bubs, we are committed to giving away $200,000 of sun hats to babies who needed them most - each year!

Our Protect The Potential initiative includes a newborn hat gift pack that contains a white newborn-sized legionnaire style and sun-safety information brochure to provide families with the means to set their little ones up to be sun safe for life. We give them away in the thousands via charities, hospitals, to various parenting events and other not-for-profit organisations. We also look for creative ways to spread our hats far and wide to cover as many little babies as possible. In May, we have our #monthofmummyhood initiative where we celebrate the good, bad and head-scratching bits about motherhood, while in November, we draw attention to the importance of sun safety with our #sunsafeforlife campaign. Throughout both campaigns, expecting mothers are invited to upload their ultrasound images to our website and in return we will send them a Protect the Potential pack. We also send out PTP packs as gifts with purchases for recipients to pay it forward if they can’t use themselves. Last November’s #sunsafeforlife saw 3077 babies receive newborn hat gift packs, worth $94,145.55. We are set to break this record yet again this month with our third #monthofmummyhood.

Sadly for some mums and babies, their everyday needs are far greater than sun-safety. That’s where you and Bedhead can make a difference!
