    Because each hat is chosen separately, you can pick different sizes for one child, choose a future size for later, or split the bundle between siblings.

    Which sun hat style is best for my child?

    • Legionnaire Sun Hat: Best for babies, toddlers and little ones who aren’t keen on hats. The foam brim keeps the hat out of your child's eyesight, the soft back flap gives extra coverage around the neck and ears and sits comfortably in prams, carriers and car seats.
    • Toddler Bucket Hat: Best for babies and toddlers up to around 3 years. Soft, lightweight and flexible, with a felt brim that stays put while they play, and is comfortable in the pram or carrier. A great everyday choice for daycare, the park and outings.
    • Classic Bucket Hat: Best from around 2 years+. Designed for busy kids who are walking, running and playing independently, with a structured anti-flop brim that keeps out of their eyes and stays put while they play.
    • Ponytail Bucket Hat: Best from around 2 years+ for kids with longer hair. It has the same protective bucket-hat coverage with a handy ponytail opening at the back.
    • Kids Swim Hat: Made for beach, pool and water play. Our swim hats have the familiar Bedhead fit in a quick-drying, chlorine-friendly fabric designed for getting wet again and again.
       

    Everyday hats vs swim hats

    The everyday hats are made from soft, lightweight cotton jersey for comfortable everyday wear. The swim hat uses quick-drying, chlorine-friendly fabric made for beach and pool days.

    • Stretch chin strap with adjustable toggle to help keep hats in place. The strap can be removed if it isn’t needed without damaging the hat.

  • One fact you can be sure of - no two heads are the same! Always measure your child's head before purchasing.

    Here's a quick guide:

    1. Distract the child with a toy or food (so they don't try and help you!)

    2. Use a soft measuring tape or a ribbon (then a ruler) to measure the child's head

    3. Purchase the size closest to your child's measurement - our hats stretch up to 4cm.

    Example: A child measuring 41cm needs the 42cm size, which stretches to 46cm for future wear. Sizing up would be too large and could block their vision.

  • We understand that sometimes everything seems to go wrong. 

    Don't stress - we accept returns of new unworn items with tags still attached for the exchange of a different size/style or refund if required. You must contact us within 30 days of purchase to organise a return.

    TO RETURN: Please notify us by email to request a return - contactus@bedheadhats.com.au. Remember to include details of the product you wish to exchange and the replacement you want. You will be given delivery details to post back the item (at your cost).

    Store credits are not available. Exchanges and returns are permitted on SALE or discounted items, but conditions do apply. View full returns policy here.

    Sale items priced $20 or less are considered Clearance items and cannot be returned for a refund or exchange due to change of mind, size, colour or print. This is in compliance with Australian Consumer Law and the ACCC.
