Winter Fleece size guide

Kids grow and develop differently – and their heads are no different! While we have age ranges on our sizes they’re really just that: a guide. We recommend you choose a size by head measurement to get the perfect fit.

Check out our video of tips (and some tricks) to help you measure your little one!

Our animal beanies are designed for ultimate comfort and warmth. The Koala, Bunny and Puppy beanies feature a soft, felt outer with a super-soft Sherpa lining. The Kitty and Bear beanies are made from cosy snuggle fleece.

Bedhead hats Winter collection - Fleecy Legionnaire

The ideal winter hat – an anti-flop brim to shield eyes and faces from the sun and glare, and a fleecy inside to keep heads warm. Wear the ear flaps up or down to suit your mood (and the chill factor).

Steps to success!

Step 1: Distract the child with a toy or food (so they don't try to help you!).

Step 2: Use a measuring tape to take the measurement. Otherwise, use a ribbon to take the size then use a ruler to find the measurement.

Step 3:
Teddy and Fleecy Legionnaire:
These hats are mostly true to size so choose a hat with the measurement closest to your child’s head. Just know there is a lot of stretch and they are a bit more of a larger fit than our other collections.
Koala: Due to the extra stretchy nature of the outer and inner fabric on this hat, these are sized quite large. We recommend you size down if your child is on the smaller end of the size range (ie, head measures 53cm, we suggest you get the 52cm rather than the 54cm). The stretch and extra room in the sizing means you can size down quite comfortably.

TIP: It's best for babies to learn to wear hats from birth, before motor skills develop.
