Not a chocolate egg to be seen! A little sweet, a little savoury, a whole lot delicious! This is one treat the kids will love helping make – and the good news is, there are no real rules so you can be as creative or uncreative as you like!!

You'll need:

Shortcrust pastry
This Easter egg template
Baking tray
Baking paper
Scissors
Knife
Custard
Fork
Fruit of your choice

How to:

1. Print the template onto A4 in portrait and cut out.
2. Place egg onto shortcrust pastry (it should fit diagonally!) and use a knife to cut around the shape.
3. Leave plain or decorate the edge but cutting strips of pastry into one-centimetre-wide lengths and twisting. Press the twisted strips around the edge of the egg and press gently.
4. Prick the pastry with a fork all over and pop in oven at 190 degrees. Cook for approximately 5-10 minutes until light golden brown.
5. Spread custard over egg and decorate as you wish!

Check out how we did it here!
