Father's Day Crafts for the Kids

Add a sentimental touch to your gift with these simple DIY projects. We’ve got printable templates ready for you to download!

DIY Father’s Day Card

Let the kids get creative! Simply print out the template and get the kids to colour away, then cut the card out, fold along the lines, and write a heartfelt message to make Dad feel extra special. We recommend printing this template on A3 paper for best sizing, however A4 still makes a ridiculously cute card for Dad.

‘I Owe You’ Vouchers

Give Dad some fun IOUs — a sleep-in, breakfast in bed, or a hug attack. Print this template off on A4 paper, let the kids decorate the vouchers for a personal touch, then cut out the vouchers and gift to Dad with your new DIY card!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Treat Dad to a little homemade goodness with these easy choc chip cookies.

*Recipe from RecipeTin Eats' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 3/4 cups plain / all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda (bi carb soda)
  • 175g / 12 tbsp unsalted butter, cut into 2 cm cubes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar , packed
  • 1/2 cup caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 180C (standard) or 160C (fan / convection). Line 2 trays with baking paper & place oven shelf in the middle of the oven.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, & baking soda. Set aside.

  3. Place the butter in a large heatproof bowl and microwave until almost melted, stir until fully melted.

  4. Add brown and white sugar to the butter and whisk briskly for 15 seconds.

  5. Whisk in the egg, yolk and vanilla until well combined.

  6. Add the flour mixture and stir until almost incorporated.

  7. Fold in 1 cup of chocolate chips and mix until evenly dispersed and no streaks of flour remain. The dough will be quite soft.

  8. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes to firm up slightly.

  9. Scoop into 5cm balls and place on the baking tray 2 inches apart. Press a few extra chocolate chips on top.

  10. Bake 1 tray at a time for 8 minutes, then rotate the tray and bake for 3 minutes (11 minutes in total). Cookies should be golden at the edges but still pale gold in the centre.

  11. Leave cookies to cool on the tray, they’ll finish setting as they rest.

This Father’s Day, it’s all about combining style, practicality, and heart.

Our Adults Ribbed Broadbrim Hats make the perfect gift and with our limited-time bundle offer, you can surprise Dad (or anyone you love) with not one, but two hats. Add in the kids’ handmade card, a few fun IOU vouchers, and maybe a plate of fresh choc chip cookies, and you’ve got a Father’s Day celebration that’s equal parts meaningful and memorable.

Happy Father's Day!
Love, Team Bedhead xx
