DIY: easy Easter Bunny masks

DIY: easy Easter Bunny masks

14 April 20220 Comments

A great activity to do on an otherwise quiet Good Friday - prepping for the great Easter Egg Hunt!

These masks are fun to do and can be worn as a mask or on their forehead like a headband. They also look too cute wrapped around a little egg bucket on the morning of the great hunt!

You'll need:

Sheet of cardboard
This mask template you can download here
Glue
Paintbrush
Cotton wool balls
Glitter or coloured paper or felt
Scissors
Stapler
Pencil

How to:

1. Download and print our mask template here: bunny mask template
2. Cut it out, being sure to cut around the dotted lines if you'd like to create a "wrap" around the head. Otherwise if you want to add elastic, print onto A4 cardstock and just cut around the face.
3. Trace around the mask onto cardboard and extend the dotted lines to the edges of the cardboard to create the "wrap".
4. Cut out the mask. Cut some ear centres out of glitter paper, coloured paper, felt or even paint the centres on if you prefer.
5. Glue the remaining face and stick on cotton wool balls. It's best to break them up slightly to create less weight and also to be able to get in skinnier areas without too much overlap.
6. For a nose, cut a circle or heart shape out of the same material you used for the ear inners. Cut a narrow strip of cardboard and fringe it from both ends, leaving the centre solid so you can stick the "nose" on.
7. Use your finger nail to run along the length of each whisker to make it curl.
8. Stick the nose in place!
9. Wrap the mask around the head and staple into place. Bounce, hop and have fun!
